Hermie!

We spent the day on the North Shore on Monday hunting for shells and beach glass. Opi found this little hermit crab and was fascinated. We named him "Hermie". She let him go at the end of the day by tossing him back in the sea. Love this girl :)

It's Been Too Long!

Sorry for not posting lately, life has been really busy. We promise to be more regular! Here's Opal eating the strawberries we grew. She ate all of them, I'm not even sure if they taste good she eats them so fast.
We stayed at a hotel with the Kenney's in Waikiki last month and they had a koi pond that she was obsessed with. Too bad I don't have any pics of her laying on the ground trying to touch them.

Auntie Alana made these fun hats for us!
While I was in San Francisco, she and Dada went to the humane society to play with the dogs and cats. She is an animal lover just like Dave.

Funny Pics

She looks like a calendar girl on Pono's mini street bike! Lovely.
Loved this pink moped at sears.
Opi had a blast riding Dada's moped in the driveway. It looks like they are going fast, but really just putting along. Safety first in this family...

Lovely Mokuleia

Today we went to the Northwest side of the island and there was no one on the beach! Dada built Opi a sand slide and they did it for hours. Here she is with "Bobbi" waiting for the launch.
The take off...
Mid slide...
And into the ocean!

More Mokuleia

Sitting on the board waiting to go down the sandslide.
Opi through the lens of my sunglasses.
Riding on Dada's back while he snorkled. She also did a short snorkling session with goggles and saw fish!
Jumping off the board into a big sandpit. This was an awesome Monday...

Opi is starting to like her tricycles. She hops on every once in a while and takes a leisurely ride.

Halloween

This is so late! I know Halloween is long gone, but it was so much fun for Opi!! She was a trick-or-treating pro.

Feeding Elmo

It is amazing how 2 year olds really start to develop their imagination.
She got her stool, put Elmo in the high chair, buckled him and fed him cereal. We were cracking up.

Paddling Around

For the longest time Opal wouldn't go on the surfboard. She finally tried it and figured how fun it is to paddle around. She and Da-Da went all over looking at the reef, crabs, limu etc. We were worried there for a little while...

Taking Care of the Christmas Tree

I told Bootsie she has to be careful with the tree so she decided to brush all the ornaments gently with a hairbrush??? Whatever...

Around The House

Opi loves to wear Mama's house slipper/boot things.
She loves to hide and I laughed so hard when she thought i couldn't see her under the blanket.
"I'm here, Mama!"
Too cute.

Picking a Christmas Tree

We went to Wahiawa to cut down our own Christmas tree this year. It was so fun to pick it out! Don't you just love this chubby face?
These pine trees stay green for over a month and are totally environmentally responsible, not to mention local!

Opi had a blast searching for chickens and yelling "my tree".

Thanksgiving in Ka'a'awa

Opal took off all her clothes and ran around for hours
My uncle's house is right on the ocean. Nothing like Thanksgiving by the sea.
Here is my family with the beautiful Ko'olau mountains in the back.
My uncle has this adorable, beachy collection of buoys, surfboards, paddles... I love beach houses.
Here is a full picture of my Auntie Winnie and Uncle Skippy's house. Beach in the front and mountains in the back. We go here every year for Thanksgiving and always have a blast!
